The Music in You

This painting is inspired by Kiawah Island, where I have a cozy home and get endless creative inspiration!  Have you ever held a conch shell to your ear to "hear" the ocean? For this painting, I wanted to capture the idea of the ocean's inner music - and how we each have music inside us, too. So I created something that felt lyrical, expansive, and textural. I layered shades of blue with gold leaf, bits of paint peeled from my palette, and a snippet of antique sheet music from the 1920's! These elements converge into an airy contemporary artwork that has heritage moments tucked into its many layers. It is aesthetic, colorful and meaningful - all the things that art should bring to your space!

The Music in You is a mixed media artwork on a 24"x20"x .75”(d) stretched canvas. This artwork will arrive framed in a gold and black floater frame, ready to hang. Approximate framed dimensions 25" x 21"
