Have you ever held a conch shell to your ear to "hear" the ocean? For this painting, I wanted to capture the idea of the ocean's inner music...something that felt lyrical, expansive, and textural. I layered shades of blue with gold leaf, bits of paint peeled from my palette, and a snippet of antique sheet music from the 1920's! These elements converge into an airy contemporary artwork that has heritage moments tucked into its many layers. It's aesthetic, colorful and meaningful - all the things that art should bring to your space!

Song of the Sea is a mixed media artwork on a 24"x20"x .75”(d) stretched canvas. This artwork will arrive framed in a gold and black floater frame, ready to hang. Approximate framed dimensions 25" x 21"

Materials: Acrylic paint, oil pastel collage, metallic leaf
