I'm including this in my summer Journeys Capsule collection because sometimes, our journeys are internal.  I made this painting after a few chaotic months of a home remodel that had taken over my art studio. It felt so good to paint again! I love to add lots of details to the middle layers of my work and this painting has lots of marks and swirls in the mist, done in oil pastel, charcoal, gold leaf and even a bit of vintage piano roll paper from 1935! When you step back, it becomes a peaceful composition of soft blues and grays that work harmoniously together and add a lovely, calming vibe to any living space.

As I was creating this piece, I thought about how it's a good visual metaphor for life. I hope that when your days get chaotic, this painting invites you to take a deep breath and shift perspective, trusting the many ways that small things in your life can work together to create something beautiful and good.
